Happiness is: $4 sunflowers from the grocery store

Now that our yard isn’t producing much that I can cut and stick in a vase (I miss you, hydrangea), I try to pick up fresh flowers each week at the grocery.

These sunflowers put all of the other arrangements to shame. So bright and cheerful. Larger than life.

Small Fry likes playing hide-and-seek with her dad sitting across the table, ducking and peering at him from around the flowers. Which is such a nice way to start our day — especially this week, when thanks to the time change, our days have been starting much, much earlier than usual. Praying for her little sleep clock to reset itself soon. Mama’s tired.

Sunflowers to the rescue!

Whatever it takes, right?
