homegrown lettuce

Isn’t this lettuce beautiful?

Laura and our dad are growing a garden again this year, and I’m so lucky to get to share in the harvest. Marc and I made salads with our dinner last night using Laura’s lettuce, and they were delicious. You can really taste a difference.

Three cheers for local foods!

  1. Thanks sis! It’s always pretty amazing to see something like a head of lettuce sprout out of a patch of dirt. Fingers crossed the spinach follows suit soon!

  2. One of the things I’m looking forward to is being able to grow my own food when I live in my own home again.

  3. We did lettuce 2 years ago and it was so fun to just go outside and pick my salad 🙂 One of these days we will have a garden at this house, but I am not there yet. In the meantime, my mom got some laying hens so I look forward to ‘poaching’ some of her eggs! HA…sorry. I’m going now…
