Now, a moment of silence.
I’ve been trying to think of how on earth to describe their show last night in Raleigh, but all the words that come to mind are so cliche. Awesome. Amazing. Other-worldly.
I can’t help it. My head is still spinning.
Goosebumps covered my arms pretty much the entire time. And I couldn’t wipe the ridiculous grin off my face. If it wasn’t the music making me shriek like a teenager, it was the spectacle.
Bono described the spaceship set as the band’s attempt at “intimacy on a grand scale.” It was breathtaking.
I’ve been waiting a long time to see these guys, and it was more than I’d ever expected.
Here are a few of the bazillion photos I took last night:
The herd waiting to get in
Smoke! They’re coming!
Just one shot of the screen
Gimongous disco ball
These photos betray how freaking good our seats were. Fourth row from the wall; just heads above the folks on the stadium floor.
One of my favorite moments of the show was when Bono plucked a random kid out of the crowd to join him onstage. They completed a couple of laps, then Bono gave the little boy his sunglasses. That kid will now be the coolest in his entire school, for sure.
Were you there? What did you think?
(P.S. We missed most of Muse’s set, but the two songs we heard were pretty awesome.)
(P.P.S. I now have a small crush on the Edge. Must be the skull cap.)

I’m a huge Beyonce fan. But you don’t have to be to love this video (thanks, S, for sending my way):
